# Agents

### Overview

| Component   | Description                     |
| ----------- | ------------------------------- |
| Identity    | Name, bio, and purpose          |
| Personality | Instructions and seed knowledge |
| Model       | LLM and thinking depth          |
| Channels    | Where users interact with it    |
| Resources   | Compute profile                 |

**Agent states**

| State   | Meaning                             |
| ------- | ----------------------------------- |
| Stopped | Not running. No compute consumed.   |
| Pending | Provisioning. Usually < 30 seconds. |
| Running | Live and accepting messages.        |

### Manage

**Start** — click **Run Agent** from Agent data. Status: Pending → Running.

**Stop** — click **Stop**. Config, files, and memory preserved. Compute stops.

**Edit** — click **Edit** at any time.

> Changes to model or channels may require a restart.

| INFO  | Normal operational events         |
| WARN  | Non-critical issues               |
| ERROR | Failures affecting agent behavior |
